Denisa Andreea Curtasu, a 13 years old Romanian pianist living in Arezzo – Italy, needs immediate financial help to continue her piano studies at the State Music Conservatory “Luigi Cherubini” of Florence, Italy.
Denisa’s 14th birthday is around the corner and hopefully will be on of the best of her life, despite the current financial challenges she and her family are currently facing.
The young musician was born on May 8th, 1998 in Targoviste, Romania. She was raised by her father Lucica Catalin and her grandmother, after her mom left their home when Denisa was only 3 years old.
Despite his locomotor disability (he was born with a dabilitating birth defect that limits his mobility) and a very modest financial situation, Lucica struggled to provide a good education for his daughter. Denisa has been studying piano since the age of 7, when she had her first encounter with this magical instrument. Since then Denisa has won over 17 music wards in Romania and performed live on various Romanian TV shows, being known as a local wonder child of the piano classical music.
Four years ago, after winning a classical music contest in Italy, she has been invited to study abroad. After learning the Italian language for a year all by herself, she was the first to be admitted to the Luigi Cherubini State Conservatory in Florence, winning the first place among 56 other candidates at the admission exam.
Her most recent music award dates as of April 4th 2012, when she won the Talenti alla Ribalta, Arezzo – Italia TV Show produced by the Italian Television Teletruria.
Unfortunately Denisa Andreea’s family can not afford to pay for her studies and their living expenses anymore since her father lost his job and the 200 euro monthly pension was cut by the Romanian administration due to his Italian residency. They are soon to be evicted from their apartment in Arezzo, Italy and need urgent help.

Lucica is committed to do anything to keep his daughter in the conservatory and to fulfill her dream of becoming a world-class pianist. He even set up a small online shop for his own religious wood paintings.
